Frane ADAM, born in 1948, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences (Department of Cultural Studies), University of Ljubljana, and at the Faculty of Humanities, Koper. Post-doctoral specialisation and visiting researcher (on the basis of a scholarship by the A. von Humboldt-Stiftung scholarship) in Konstanz and Bielefeld (FRG) and guest professor at the Sussex University, Brighton, U.K., School of European Studies. Research interests: transformation (modernisation) of post-socialist countries, theories and indicators of socioeconomic development, social capital.
